"Down!"

Otis finally did down tonight!!!! We were having such a hard time because he's already "down" since he's so short, but my uncle had the wonderful suggestion of putting him on the couch and holding the treat just below him. He wasn't getting it at first, so we helped him and brought in the clicker. However, tonight he did it all by himself!!! He even did it on the floor. We're so happy. We really thought he was never going to get this command. We also worked on "stay" some more tonight. He does really good until the end, he jumps the gun a little before you say "ok", but we'll get there.

Puppy Kindergarten Class#2

So, tonight we learned "stay", "heel" and practiced his recall. He did great at all of these, although he's still having issues with "down". He's just so close to the ground already. It was so cute though because when we got there everyone was saying "there's Otis". We didn't remember anyone's name except for maybe one or two dogs, but it seemed like everyone remembered his name. Of course, we were proud because we think he's so cute and special, so we felt good when everyone remembered him. Our little baby. He's so cute and working hard. He makes us so proud!

Uh-Oh!

So Otis has reached his "terrible two's" in human years I guess. He has discovered digging. He came inside the other day with a snout covered in dirt. It was pretty funny, but now we have to watch him even closer. He also has started humping his bed. Yikes! The vet said that he is ready to be neutered. He has 5 more weeks left of his puppy kindergarten class, but after that he's going in to be fixed. Hopefully he will calm down a bit and will leave his poor bed alone.

What have we gotten ourselves into!

He's a wild man! Otis gets so excited when we get home, he's like our little jumping bean. Its so cute. He has so much energy! Well, for a little while and then he crashes, must be his puppy age.

Intro

Ok, lets be honest. We are "those parents". You know, the ones where everything is about their child, even if it is a fur child. There really will not be any exciting news on here for other people, just things that we would like to share with our family and friends such as pictures and videos of our kid, Otis. Oh, and he's not spoiled at all. He only has 3 blankets, 3 beds, about a hundred toys, holistic food, plus probiotics added in, and he's in puppy kindergarten. Whew!
